Classroom Procedures
Entering The Room
- Pick up any folders, worksheets, handouts or papers which are stacked on top of the bookcase
- Place all belongings (books, purses, etc.) in the cabinets or extra table in the sewing room.
- Proceed quickly and quietly to your seat
- Follow any instructions which may be on the Smartboard
If You Were Absent The Previous Day
- As you enter the room, pick up any materials needed for the day
- Ask Mrs. Neckin what work you have missed and, if necessary, set up a time to come in and review
Homework
- As you enter the room place homework assignments in the"Homework"box, if need to do so.- Five points per day will be deducted for late homework assignments (maximum 50 points)
- Homework assignments will be accepted until the Friday before the last day of the marking period
- Homework assignments are posted on the Home and Career Skills website accessible from the Staff Pages / Directory section on the school’s website www.northsalemschools.org
Missing Assignments
- Worksheets and handouts are distributed once- Additional ones can be downloaded from the Home and Career Skills website
- The Home and Career Skills website is also accessible from the Staff Pages / Directory section on the school’s website
Tardiness
- All students are to be in the room when the bell rings
- Three "unexcused lates" are permitted each quarter
- Four will result in detention
Materials Needed For Class
- A pen or pencil is required daily
- IPAD daily
Students Movement within the Classroom
- Students will remain seated during lecture, discussions and group work activities
- Laboratory work permits free movement within your lab station
Student Movement In And Out Of The Classroom
- Hygiene and personal matters such as phone calls, locker use, office visits, etc. are to be completed outside of class time
- If an unusual circumstance arises - raise your hand, ask permission to leave and return quickly and quietly
Leaving The Room
- Students are dismissed by the teacher
- Students should leave the room clean and orderly
- Be sure chairs and all other materials are returned to their proper place
Electronic Devices
- Students will be notified when IPADS can be used for class activities
- Otherwise, all IPADS are to be put away while in the classroom
Fire Drills
- Make a left out of the room and use exit by Polo Rd Doors.
- Quickly and quietly walk to our assigned location
